Technology of Your Wind Farm
Our technical operations management expands the range of functions of the control room, thus ensuring the smooth operation of your wind farm. Our experts will find speedy solutions to all problems, guaranteeing maximum availability for your turbines. Detailed statistical evaluation of the turbine performance and the technical documentation are among our services, as well as damage claims settlement or dates and deadlines management.
Monitoring of Operations
Data on the most important operating parameters and operating states
- Current data
- Status data
- Five or ten minute data
- Daily data
- Monthly data
are retrieved several times a day, if possible from the turbine control, and saved on redundantly designed servers. The data retrieved are initially checked for plausibility. Operating data are then statistically prepared with regard to error frequencies, standstill times and performance behaviour.
Turbines are defined as ‚closed electrical industrial premises‘ and are therefore subject to specific access conditions. To ensure that service providers observe the qualifications required and the respective conditions and stipulations involved, staff employed on site are subject to checks at irregular intervals. Accompanying the service team during maintenance and service work ensures that a high standard of quality can be maintained.
Date and Deadline Management
Another task of Second Level is to monitor legal and official provisions (e.g. building permits, federal emission protection approval, normative regulations, ordinances, safety at work, insurance) required for operation of the turbine. The operations manager ensures the observation of provisions and deadlines and will initiate appropriate action to ensure their fulfilment, if required. Appropriate offers to commission reports are obtained and submitted to the operator together with recommendations for action.
This especially includes the
- Commissioning report
- Warranty report
- Risk assessment
- Periodic inspection (WKP)
- Status-oriented inspection (ZOP)
- DGUV Regulation 3 inspection
- Inspection of the service lift
- Safety at work inspection
In addition to official conditions and deadlines, work also involves monitoring and checking dates and deadlines specified for the turbines in the maintenance and service contracts including maintenance documentation. Any defects included in such documentation are tracked and their elimination checked.
Contract and Warranty Management
Our staff examine existing contracts with regard to business and technical issues. If better conditions are available on the market for special turbines or the respective farm, recommendations for action are made. In addition, we monitor defined deadlines and, if necessary, assert claims for our clients in line with existing contracts.
Turbines are subject to immense stress and time-related material wear on account of their design and the considerable alternating loads involved. To minimize the risk of unforeseeable material damage, a machinery breakdown insurance combined with business interruption insurance is highly recommended. In case of a claim, Second Level will support you in registering and handling your insurance claims.
Second Level regularly prepares yield statistics and availability evaluations of the turbine. Production yields recorded are compared to forecast results and correlated with the specific wind offer taking into consideration generally accepted data collection. Monthly, quarterly and/or annual reports are made in accordance with individual client requirements and, in addition to visualization of energy yields in relation to forecasts, they also include a detailed list of malfunction and error messages as well as a display and assessment of technical availability.
A life cycle file is kept for each turbine, including all technical documentation, e.g. maintenance records, service reports, oil analyses, reports and test records of periodic inspections. All important turbine data are recorded in a database. Historical data of components already replaced are transferred to the turbine data.
